A2160 and S1133 are written to RESTORE state funding for arts, history and tourism … dedicated funding that has been eroded over the years. Even when overall revenue has grown, the arts, history, and tourism communities have been working with the minimum amount of funding allowed by law, and we think it only fair that these communities are given the amount promised within the original legislation.
With your help, over 7,500 messages have been sent to your district legislators, and that has led to a current total of ten sponsors/co-sponsors and much verbal support in the Assembly, and three Senate sponsors, plus more promised support.
Now the New Jersey Assembly leadership needs a nudge in the right direction.
Please take one minute to send an email message to your legislators, and urge them to support these bills. Your email will also be directed to the Assembly leadership asking them to move A2160 forward in committee.
Your action now is critical to the success of this effort. State revenue has grown through the hard work of arts, history and tourism businesses to make sure that New Jersey remains a great place to live, work, raise a family and visit. It’s time that funding is restored to 2005 levels of support through its dedicated source of state revenue.
