Today more than 600 dedicated arts supporters – from 48 states and including close to 50 advocates from New Jersey – will come together in Washington, DC for Arts Advocacy Day: The National Arts Action Summit. This national event brings together a broad cross section of America’s cultural and civic organizations to represent a united effort to tell Capitol Hill how important the arts are to our communities, how much arts education means to our children, and how the arts improve our daily lives.
With the President’s proposed elimination of the National Endowment for the Arts, National Endowment for the Humanities, Corporation for Public Broadcasting, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services, it is critical that your federal representatives know that these agencies matter. Even if you couldn’t come to DC this week, you can still help make the case. ArtPride has provided a toolkit with facts and figures, social media outreach tools, and other ways to make your voice heard.
Please visit the Arts Action Center today to send a customizable message to your New Jersey representatives in Congress to show your support for the NEA and solidarity with the hundreds of advocates on Capitol Hill today.
