FOR INFORMATION

If you’ve not yet registered for the May 14 rally, PLEASE REGISTER NOW! You can register by downloading the rally registration form in ArtPRIDE’s Arts Crisis Resource Room at www.artpridenj.com or by clicking on ACTION on ArtPRIDE’s home page to register online. It’s simple and important--we need to have an accurate projection of participants for security purposes. If you are traveling with one of the many buses chartered for this event, you may register on board prior to arrival.

Other info available in ArtPRIDE’s online Arts Crisis Resource Room:

A map of the State House complex area
A list of buses with contact info
Parking information
Driving directions
A schedule for the march & rally

We will update this information regularly (it was updated today), so check periodically for any updates.

WHAT TO BRING, WHAT TO EXPECT

Besides yourself and a few friends, it’s important to bring:

A bag lunch
comfortable shoes--the march is about 3-4 city blocks and involves 4 of Trenton’s most historic buildings—the War Memorial, the Masonic Temple, The Old Barracks Museum and the NJ State House. The pathway is accessible to disabled persons and handicapped parking is available.
Postcards, petitions, letters that we will collect and deliver
Enthusiasm, creativity, patience, and good humor

We will assemble at the War Memorial at 10:45 am, and because we have a roster filled with speakers, the rally is expected to last until about 1:30 pm. If you wish to make a day of it, consider lunch at one of the many eateries in town (information will be available at the registration tables in the Masonic Temple) and a tour of one or more of these historic sites or a visit to the NJ State Museum located just down the street.

Speakers include:

• Actors John Amos, Dan Lauria, Joe Piscopo, Tony Randall and Eric Bogosian
Ben Cameron of Theatre Communications Group
• Artist Kiki Smith
• History representatives David Cowell of the Advocates for NJ History, Dr. Clement A. Price of the Rutgers Institute for Ethnicity, Culture and the Modern Experience, and character actor Stacy Roth
Bob Patterson of the NJ Travel Industry Association
• Elected officials including Senator Leonard Lance, Senator Thomas H. Kean, Jr. and Assemblyman Joseph Roberts, Assemblyman Nicholas Asselta and Assemblyman Louis Greenwald

There is an open public budget hearing in Committee Room 4 on the first floor of the State House Annex. Many of your colleagues will testify that day before the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee, and you may hear testimony delivered from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. In addition, Capital Lab will be held at 9:30 am in Assembly Room #6 of the State House Annex. Legislators and budget staff will attempt to explain the budget process. This event is co-sponsored by the Center for Non-Profit Corporations. Registration ($10 fee if you are a member of the Center) is required because limited seating is available. Please call the Center for Non-Profit Corporations if you wish to attend at 732-227-0800.
